Last Thursday, the French Institute hosted the Night of Ideas; a fascinating and inspiring event featuring a collection of talks from over 50 leading experts, artists, researchers and journalists. Alongside these captivating talks, Aubaine served a selection of exclusive canapés and drinks from our café, created especially for the event.
The night’s savoury bites included brioche filled with tomato, halloumi and rocket or smoked salmon and dill cream, fresh green salads and handmade stromboli, swirled with rich tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni. To accompany these savoury snacks we created a signature Starry Night cocktail, an (out-of-this-world!) combination of gin, cassis and ginger beer.
For dessert, our chefs designed a selection of luxurious themed pâtisseries. The end result was an exquisite nod to space exploration; an alien-esque, green After-eight éclair and a marbled cream cheese & sour cherry tart sprinkled with stars.
The Aubaine Café is a charming spot to stop for coffee and a light meal or to indulge in a delicious treat from our selection of freshly baked cakes. Drop in before watching a film at the institute, or pop in to pick up an artisan loaf to take home and enjoy.
